For decimal feet, use meters = feet × 0.3048. One international foot is exactly 0.3048 meters and equals 12 inches.
For separate feet and inches, use meters = feet × 0.3048 + inches × 0.0254. Select “Enter feet + inches” to use separate fields.

5 × 0.3048 + 10 × 0.0254 = 1.778 m. The same measurement is approximately 5.833333 decimal feet.

Why 5.10 feet is not 5 ft 10 in
The decimal part of a foot is a fraction of 12 inches. A value of 5.10 decimal feet means 5 ft plus 1.2 in. Use the separate fields for a measurement stated in feet and inches.
