Length is a one-dimensional measurement. This converter works with millimeters, centimeters, meters, kilometers, inches, feet, yards and miles. It does not convert square or cubic units.
Inches and centimeters
1 in = 2.54 cm

Feet and meters
1 ft = 0.3048 m

Example: 12 inches to centimeters
12 × 2.54 = 30.48 cm. In the reverse direction, 30.48 ÷ 2.54 = 12 in. The conversion factors are exact; displayed results are rounded.
Decimal feet and feet plus inches
5 ft 6 in is 5.5 decimal feet, because 6 inches is half a foot. It is not 5.6 feet. When converting from feet, select “Enter feet + inches” if you have separate measurements.
