What does volume measure?

Volume tells you how much three-dimensional space an object occupies. For a rectangular box, multiply length, width and height. A box measuring 4 ft × 3 ft × 2 ft has a volume of 24 ft³.

For capacity, measure inside the container. Use the same length unit for every dimension, and check whether a circular measurement is a radius or a diameter.
